Regarding bird life . . . there are more than 700 species of birds in North America, and many people aspire to add as many of these names to their life list as possible.   Birding is one of the top leisure activities, yet it doesn't require fancy equipment.  A reasonable pair of binoculars and field guide will put you in touch with the species around you.  Learning birds is like learning a new language - you learn a little bit at a time. You may start with the kitchen window feeder and graduate with a birding safari to Alaska!  Understanding bird life gives you a understanding of their needs to survive within a habitat.  When we protect habitat we protect all the species using that habitat, including birds.  Support your local conservation organizations to protect habitat - be a good steward!

To view the birds, just click on the species name to open the gallery.  Any of the photos found in our galleries can be prepared as a print, matted print, photo card or digital file for publication - see Order Information to find out how to get a photo. If you have a question about a specific bird, or are looking for a species not listed here,  please email Jim at jmundyphotography@yahoo.com
